The Ministry of Citizen Attention and Participation officially confirmed the reactivation of this social program, originally created in the Iztapalapa mayor’s office during the management of Clara Brugada, today head of government of the CDMX.
This Monday, August 4, it was published in the Official Gazette The notice that formalizes the creation of the “Mercomuna” personal data system, which was ratified the return of the program.
Here we explain who can access, how to register and what the support consists of.
What is Mercomuna?
Mercomuna is a social program of vouchers equivalent to one thousand pesos, which you can use to buy food and basic products in previously affiliated tianguis and shops.
The objective is double: support people in vulnerable situations and reactivate the neighborhood economy, encouraging consumption in small businesses.
Who can receive vouchers?
According to official information, the requirements are:
LIVE IN MEXICO CITY
Have between 19 and 56 years
How do I register?
You do not need to leave your home: Brigades of the CDMX government will tour the colonies to register directly to interested persons.
“We are going to your home. The team of the Ministry of Citizen Attention and Participation goes home by house to register interested people,” they reported on social networks.
What documents do you need?
Have at hand:
CURP (unique population registration key)
INE credential
Proof of address (no more than three months)
Where can you use the vouchers?
You can exchange them in shops and tianguis affiliated with the Mercomuna program. The participating businesses will be constantly updated, and more premises are also being invited to join.
If you have a business and want to accept these vouchers, the program also opens the door:
“By accepting Mercomuna vouchers, more neighbors and neighbors can buy at your premises. Thus, you strengthen your business and help reactivate the economy in your colony.”
What follows?
Mercomuna is underway. If you meet the requirements, wait for a brigade to touch your door or keep attentive to the social networks of the Government of the CDMX.
This program not only seeks to help you fill the pantry, but also support your colony economy.
