Nicolás Maduro explained that members of the National Guard seized 1,122 kilos of explosives, dismantled 445 criminal gangs and arrested at least 70,500 people, just as they managed to recover 8,731 vehicles, 1,380 outboard engines and “more than 1,230 vessels used for crimes of different kinds”
During the 88th anniversary of the National Guard, Nicolás Maduro ordered the creation of a new direction of “cyberdefense” and deepen the division against the terrorism of the National Armed Forces (FAN), with the objective of “new transformations” of the four armed component of the country.
“Today we are going to new transformations, in the fight against cyberrterrorism, in the development of the digital and communicational capacity of the Armed Forces, with the Ayacucho Plan we have to deepen the changes,” Maduro said in a message recorded from the Villa Zoila Military Museum, west of Caracas.
In addition to this “Cyberdefensa Directorate,” Maduro asked to advance in the National Environmental Nursery Command – which will support the Ministry of Ecosocialism -, in a National Command of Road Safety and Aid, Military Health Bases, Logistic Support Points and Coastal Surveillance Brigades.
He also ordered the creation of 41 new units of the People’s Guard and 51 new territorial detachments of the National Guard, which he said must be “at the forefront of territorial defense.”

The official also assured that the National Guard, in the last year, has seized “more than 100 tons of drugs, every coming from Colombia”, this as part of a fight “against the tancol and against drug trafficking linked above all now to the fascist conspiracy.”
He also explained that GN troops seized in the last year 1,122 kilos of explosives, dismantled 445 criminal gangs and arrested at least 70,500 people, just as they managed to recover 8,731 vehicles, 1,380 outboard engines and “more than 1,230 vessels used for crimes of different kinds.”
“This is already in the hands of the forces of public order (…) passed from the crime, of evil, of violence to the hands of peace,” he said.
Maduro said he celebrates a national guard “more moralized, more disciplined and more powerful than ever before,” and said that in this new stage with the People’s Guard they must reach 5,336 communal circuits in the country.
On the other hand, he recalled that seven years of the terrorist attack with 2018 drones were completed, for which 17 people – among military and civilians – were sentenced to prison sentences between five and 30 years. “Today is known with completely reliable evidence, captured their material and intellectual operators, it is known that this attempt was prepared from the Casa de Nariño, in Bogotá, by order of Juan Manuel Santos.”
Again, he mentioned among those involved to John Bolton, the Safety Exassor of the White House, and the former deputy Julio Borges, whom he described as a “murderer protected by Spain.”
