A thousand people a day is what the Ministry of Health (Minsa) intends to vaccinate against Caovid-19, through the “Get vaccinated in your neighborhood” strategy, which this week they will be carrying out in different communities in the township of El Chorrillo.
According to the Minsa, they hope to vaccinate people over 12 years of age and continue with the inoculation of infants from 5 to 11 years of age.
The National Head of Nursing of the Minsa, Eusebia Calderón de Copete, highlighted that with these strategies carried out in shops, parks and in the homes of Panamanians, they have already applied around 11,000 doses against the coronavirus.
“Today we will visit Barraza and thus seek to comply with and cover the 10 buildings located in this area,” said Copete.
Copete explained that in these days the first, second and third doses and pediatric vaccines are placed and revealed that this strategy will be extended to other parts of the country next week.
Immunization in schools
The head of nursing highlighted that there is a national plan, with which they hope to advance in pediatric vaccination, which is already 47% complete, and will start on Monday the 14th.
He stressed that the doses against Covid-19 applied in schools, homes and hospitals are applied to minors with prior authorization from parents.
