A new earthquake was recorded on the Peruvian coast on August 3. According to the National Seismological Center, this occurred 59 kilometers south of Zorritos, Contralmirante Villar, in the Tumbes region, and its magnitude was 4.2.
The telluric event was recorded at 22:06 and had a depth of 51 kilometers, the entity explained.
This on the same day that two earthquakes will be recorded in Lima and Callao in the afternoon with just minutes of difference between them, one of 6.6 and the other of 4.2 of magnitude.
It should be remembered that Peru is located inside the Pacific Fire belt, one of the most active seismic areas on the planet.
This geological strip surrounds much of the Pacific Ocean and concentrates more than 80 % of the world seismic activity. Proof of this is the recent earthquake registered in Russia a few days ago. Therefore, each earthquake in Lima or anywhere in the country should not be taken lightly.
