Covid-19 balance: Minsal reports 13,820 new cases and death toll reaches 149 in the last 24 hours

The Ministry of Health made a new balance on the situation of Covid-19 in the country, where 13,820 new cases were reported, of which 8,218 correspond to symptomatic people and 1,507 did not present symptoms. In addition, 4,095 positive PCR tests were registered that were not reported.

In this way, the total number of people diagnosed with Covid-19 reached 3,202,562 and recovered patients reached 3,061,410 since the arrival of the coronavirus in Chile.

On the other hand, the death of 149 people in the last 24 hours was detailed, thus reaching 43,226 since the start of the pandemic, while positivity reached 17.79% nationwide.

As for active cases, these reached 89,973 people and PCR tests amounted to 67,895 in the last 24 hours, thus reaching the total amount of 33,587,775

Meanwhile, there are 1,051 people hospitalized for Covid-19 in Intensive Care Units. Of these, 839 are supported by mechanical ventilation. Along the same lines, the hospital capacity has 2,524 critical beds enabled and 239 critical beds available.

Positivity in the Metropolitan Region reached 17.79%, while the regions with the highest increase in new confirmed cases in the last seven days are Ñuble, Biobío, Los Ríos and O’Higgins.
