The vice president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Rector Carlos Quintero, reported on Sunday night that with a totalization corresponding to 98.55% of the positions to councilors and councilors representatives of the indigenous peoples and with a participation of 92.97% of the spokesmen and spokesmen of the 69 positions to choose 68 positions already find themselves with irreversible tendency.
In this regard, he informed that:
Guaicaipuro Chair Party obtained 40 positions that represents 58.82%.
Puribe Party obtained 15 positions that represents 22.06%.
Casesivi Party obtained 8 positions that represents 11.73%.
Pied 1 position that represents 1.47%.
The Rector of the CNE mentioned that this electoral process of councilors and councilors of the ancestral ethnic groups of Venezuela is a democratic exercise rooted in the National Constitution that recognizes indigenous peoples in their full political participation.
“It represents a democratic exercise deeply rooted in our Constitution, especially in articles 125, 126 and 175, which recognize the right of indigenous peoples to choose their representatives before the municipal councils, guaranteeing their full political participation,” he said.
On the other hand, he thanked the entities of the National Logistics Committee that allowed an impeccable deployment, also recognized the important work that the Bolivarian National Armanda Force (FANB) exercised for the deployment in the various electoral centers, in order to guarantee indigenous peoples their right to electoral vote during this process.
Quintero announced that as of Monday, August 4, the CNE will award the charges irreversible.
