According to information from the Geophysical Institute of Peru (IGP), the earthquake had a magnitude of 3.6, a depth of 60 kilometers and its epicenter was located 7 kilometers northwest of the first port.
Minutes later, at 5:21 pm, a second tremor felt in the region. This time, the earthquake was of magnitude 4.2, with an intermediate depth, and was located 76 kilometers west of Barranca.
