Cemadoja doctors claim delay in their remuneration

Avatar

A group of doctors Japanese Dominican Friendship Medical Center (Cemadoja), denounced this Monday the delay in the payment of the productivity accumulated since September of last year.

At a press conference, the president of the section of the National District of the Dominican Medical College (CMD), Juan Pablo Lagos accused the Ministry of Public Administration (MAP) of being responsible for the fact that the doctors have not yet received their remuneration, despite the fact that they provide services to the population seven days a week.

He stated that the authorities of the aforementioned government entity and the National Health Service (SNS) have not yet given a favorable response to the situation, so he did not rule out that in the coming days they will begin a plan to fight marches and pickets, until that the doctors receive the payment.

“The CMD is willing to fight for the well-being of our Dominican doctors in any setting and anywhere,” he said.

He said that the problem is also affecting the medical professionals at the Marcelino Vélez Santana hospital and the Cardio-Neuro-Ophthalmology and Transplant Center (Cecanot).

The head of the Medical Association, Senén Caba, stressed that the protests are the only way that the Government has left him to achieve his demands, since the dialogues have been “blocked and hindered.”
