The historic Chinese neighborhood of Lima It is again the target of crime. This time, subjects stole their teeth again and the decorative sphere of the iconic LEONS FU, located at the intersection of the Andahuaylas and Ucayali jirones, in the Cercado de Lima.
Neighbors and merchants were outraged by this new vandalism that attempts against one of the main tourist attractions of the Historic Center.
So far, the Municipality of Lima has not spoken about this new robbery. The theft was informed by neighbors and merchants in the area who noticed that one of the lions had lost its characteristic metal sphere and that the dental pieces of the sculptures were mutilated.
The merchants regretted that the lack of surveillance in the area is favoring the repetition of these robberies and requested greater police presence and protection for cultural heritage.

These sculptures were donated by the Chinese government in 2017.
