Mtientefer was nominated by former president Joe Biden to hold the position in 2023 and was confirmed by the Senate the following year.
“We need precise employment figures. I have ordered my team to dismiss this person politically appointed by Biden, immediately. It will be replaced by someone much more competent and qualified,” Trump said in a post in Truth Social.
There is no evidence to support Trump’s claims about the manipulation of data by the BLS, the statistical agency compiled by the Employment Report, as well as the consumer and producer prices data.
The White House did not immediately answer questions about Trump’s publication.
