Moura officially becomes the first foreign coach to direct a Cuban volleyball team.
Arequipa, Peru – The Cuban Federation of Volleyball (FCV) reported this weekend about the new direction of the “Morenas del Caribe” team, who from this August 1 will be the responsibility of Brazilian coach Luizomar Moura.
With the announcement of the sports entity, Moura officially becomes the first foreign coach to direct a Cuban volleyball team.
“Its appointment has been managed under the empowerment project of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), which in addition to covering its fees will finance presence in fire events, the acquisition of implements and actions to improve infrastructure in our National School,” he says A statement of the FCV.
As explained by the official text, Moura’s contract was recently signed between FCV and FIVB and has been conceived for a period of four years, in adjustment to an international practice, which has had expressions in countries such as Japan, Turkey, France, Italy, Argentina, and now Cuba.
“Its approval was built together with the author authorities, the Cuban Olympic Committee and the National Volleyball Commission, before which Moura presented the details of the project, which was then discussed in depth,” the statement said.
As long as possible to the team’s address, Moura will join the “MORENAS DEL CARIBE” in Colima, Mexico, headquarters of the North American Pan American Cup of Women’s Volleyball, from August 3 to 10.
Luizomar Moura, 59, has achieved golds in the 2005 and 2007 Youth World Cups, the 2009 Cadet World Cup and the title of World Club World Champion in 2011 with the Osasco.
Its incorporation to the women’s team Cuban volleyball was already rumored since the beginning of last July, when the specialized page Cubansp1ke advanced the news.
