The Peruvian women’s soccer team has already defined its calendar for the Women’s Nations League of South America, the new qualifying tournament that will grant quotas for the FIFA 2027 World Cup, which will be played in Brazil.
What is the format of the Women’s Nations League of South America?
The competition will take place between October 24, 2025 and June 9, 2026, with a single phase of all against all and matches to a single round. Nine selections will participate, as Brazil, as the host country of the World Cup, is already automatically classified.
They will be in total 36 meetings, distributed on nine dates. Conmebol will grant two direct quotas to the World Cup and two more seats for intercontinental repechage.
This format was approved by Conmebol in December 2023 under the name of South American female qualifiers, but was recently updated with the official denomination of Conmebol Women’s Nations League.
