The National School of Ballet Fernando Alonso celebrated the maximum awards reached by three of its students in the XII International Ballet Contest in South Africahighlighting once again the quality and prestige of teaching in Cuba of this artistic discipline.
“Our students have raised the name of the Cuban Ballet School with a force that is only born from art and discipline,” the institution said in a publication in its official Facebook account.
Greisell Lastre Casuso and Joan Manuel Riera Pérez won the gold medal In the category of Pas de DEUX Classic, while Jason Baró Benavides rose with the coveted Grand Prix of the contest, considered the highest prize of the event.
The note also recognizes the accompaniment and Dedication of teachers Martha Iris Fernández, Grettel Lastre Casuso and Wendy Ferrerwho guided the students throughout the preparation process until their outstanding participation in the final of the contest.
The directive of the National School De Ballet expressed his gratitude to the International Ballet Contest of South Africa and its director, Dirk Badenhorst, for “this wonderful opportunity.”
Also, the institution congratulated his students for achievements that continue to prestige the institution and the tradition of the Cuban Ballet School.
