A 30 -year -old Colombian and his mother -in -law are being pointed out by one of the most chilling crimes recently registered in the Friuli Gemon, a small town in northern Italy. Both would have murdered, dismembered and hidden the body of Alessandro Venier, sentimental couple of the national.
The body of Venier, 35, was found last Thursday, July 31 in the basement of his residence, inside a living lime, indicating a possible intention to hide the remains and accelerate his breakdown. Although the finding was made that day, the authorities believe that the crime occurred several days before.
According to the ANSA agency, both women confessed their participation in the crime. The victim’s mother, visibly affected during her interrogation, declared: “I was me, and I know that what I did was monstrous,” a revealing phrase that was recorded before the attached prosecutor, as confirmed by his defense lawyer Giovanni de Nardo.
The lawyer also pointed out that his client is deeply shocked by the seriousness of his actions and for having transgressed what he called “every natural law.”
Currently, the authorities are concentrated in determining the exact role of each in the execution of the crime.
The first hypotheses indicate that the violent event originated after a strong family discussion. The TGCom24 chain reported that researchers handle several theories: man would have been poisoned, stabbed or both before being dismembered.
Apparently, the situation unleashed when Venier refused to collaborate with home tasks. According to Italian media, his mother and his partner claimed domestic support, but he refused, which unleashed a strong discussion that ended in tragedy.
“The man allegedly assaulted the two women who asked for help with home tasks. His mother and partner considered their total reticence to help, despite their long work absence,” said TGCom24.
Fruit of the relationship between Alessandro and the Colombian woman, a baby was born that barely has a few months of life. The child was already put under the protection of the social services of Italy.
It is known that the mother had suffered episodes of postpartum depression, which is why she received attention at the local mental health center.
Lorena Venier, mother of the victim and also accused of crime, is a retired nurse at the Hospital de Gemona del Friuli. In the community it was known for being part of training programs for health personnel. Its involvement in this fact has caused great shock in the town.
