This Friday, August 1, the Plenary of Congress It will meet in the semi -creencial session to discuss the application for the abroad travel authorization submitted by the Executive in favor of President Dina Boluarte. This was reported by the head of Parliament, José Jerí.
“The procedure is mandatory as established by the Constitution, and that is why the Board of Directors has decided to schedule it for tomorrow’s plenary,” Jerí said upon arrival at the Legislative Palace. He added that the final decision will depend on how convincing the Executive is by exposing the importance of the trip to the parliamentary benches.
“Personally, I do not oppose the head of state strengthening our diplomatic relations. But there are details that must be taken. It would have been ideal for the travel request to be accompanied, or preceded, by the projects announced in his last message to the nation,” he said.
Where will the president go?
According to the legislative resolution project sent to Congress, Boluarte seeks to travel from August 5 to 12 to Japan and Indonesia, to fulfill official activities.
In Japan, the president will participate in Peru’s Day during the Universal Osaka 2025 Expo, will meet with Prime Minister Shigeru Ihiba, will be received by Emperor Naruhito, and will be part of business meetings such as the XVI Meeting of the Peruvian-Japan Business Council (Cepende) and the Invest Day Peru-Japan.
Then, in Yakarta, capital of Indonesia, Boluarte will make a state visit within the framework of the 50th anniversary of the beginning of diplomatic relations with that country, at the invitation of the Indonesian President, Pabowo Subianto.
