The community of Mangueira, in the North Zone of Rio, will win two more ventures from the Minha Casa, Minha Vida program: 176 units, and residential Mangueira, with 96 apartments, which will benefit more than 1,000 residents. The federal government program will serve track 1, that is, families with gross income of up to R $ 2,850.
“We are doing my house, my life in partnership with the federal government, promoting infrastructure that will give dignity to people, taking them out of a situation of vulnerability, from risk areas. What we are doing today is a set of interventions to improve people’s lives,” said Mayor Eduardo Paes.
The IBGE hose will have 11 blocks with four floors each and the residential Mangueira will have six floors. In total, 272 apartments will be built, including adaptable for people with disabilities (PCD), with safety bars in the bathrooms. The units will have about 44 m², with living room, two bedrooms, kitchen, laundry area, bathroom and balcony.
Investments in Residencial Mangueira and Mangueira IBGE will be approximately R $ 46 million. The program provides for the generation of about 100 jobs, with the use of labor from community residents.
“With these residential units, in Mangueira, the city of Rio meets a demand from the population and contributes to the reduction of housing deficit in the city. Dignified housing collaborates with social development and is a way to ensure full citizenship,” said the municipal secretary of housing, Diego Zeidan.
