Franyer Hernández, a lawyer arrested since April in Portuguese, suffers multiple chronic diseases that put their lives at risk. NGOs and relatives are urgently urged
The Llanos Human Rights Foundation (Fundehullan) expressed concern about the health situation of lawyer Franyer Hernández, who was arrested on April 10 in the Portuguese state and remains detained at the headquarters of the Bolivarian National Police (PNB).
The NGO and other DDHH defenders denounced that Hernández suffers a serious medical picture after having three months imprisoned. The lawyer Mary Carmen Giocetti assured through her X account that Franyer Hernández’s life “is at risk” and said that among the pathologies they present are: liver cirrhosis, reversed liver, bilateral renal lithiasis, arterial hypertension, colonopathy, infectious schbiosis, thickening of walls in bladder and veinsicle, among other ailments.
The lawyer Hernández collaborated with the Convzla command, which promoted the political campaign of Edmundo González in conjunction with María Corina Machado for last year’s presidentials. He was arrested without a court order by a strongly armed PNB commission. According to lawyer Tamara Suju, at that time the officials also took their computer equipment and work materials.
“The State must guarantee its right to health, in accordance with article 83 of the Constitution,” said Fundehullan, which demanded urgent medical care and release for Franyer Hernández.
