From August 4 to 10, the Habana Titiritera festival will celebrate its fifth edition when 26 groups of Cuba, Colombia, Mexico and South Korea will meet to present 32 works in 80 functions.
Organized by the National Council of Performing Arts and the Havana Theater Center, the Festival will highlight 11 premieres of Havana companies such as El Puerto Theater, Traveler Theater, Ocean Theater and Theater La Villa, Point out Latin press.
A climax will be the delivery of the Timonel 2025 and three collateral awards at the head of the bow. This year, the event is integrated into the Network of Puppet Festivals of the Puppet International Union (Unima), marking a milestone in its global projection.
In addition, South Korean Young Wong will present Grandma’s caressesa work with flat puppets co -directed with Cubans Erduyn Maza and Arneldy Cejas, previously released in South Korea.

The festival includes the project The Milky Wayaimed at children up to six years, with activities in children’s circles that combine sensory games, music with a violinist and seed planting to promote interaction and learning.
A special day will honor the Cuban writer Dora Alonso, with the participation of students of the National School of Puppets.
Workshops, exhibitions and the conference “El Puíre as the therapeutic tool” by Mexican Gilberto Palma will enrich the programming.
With 80 planned functions, the festival seeks to bring the art of puppets to public of all ages.
