As detailed in the report, of all reports classified as trafficking in persons by the Citizen Council— 5,170 reports received between January 2024 and June 2025-, 62% corresponded to child pornography (Child sexual abuse material), while the remaining 38% was distributed among eight other diverse modalities, including sexual exploitation and work or forced services.
“Children is still the most affected by human trafficking. The highest percentage of victims of all age groups is concentrated in those under 18. The report emphasizes that the modality of child pornography trafficking, committed through social networks, video games and messaging applications, had an 86% increase in the first semester of 2025 compared to the same period of the previous year. In total, 696 victims of Masi were identified, mostly girls, boys and adolescents.

The report also records a worrying increase in cases related to child sexual abuse (MASI), to the degree of representing 62% of trafficking reports in digital environments. 81% of the victims are minors, mainly between 12 and 17 years, and 59% are women.
In addition, it was detected that many victims delivered more sexual material or even money to avoid the dissemination of their content, falling into sexants schemes that perpetuate exploitation.
According to statistics, 68% of the victims delivered more content after the first threat, and 23% paid money in an attempt to stop the diffusion.
The Citizen Council highlights that each photography or intimate video of a minor constitutes evidence of sexual abuse, and emphasizes that no child or adolescent can legally consent to this type of content, so it must be treated as a crime of trafficking, in accordance with articles 16 and 17 of the General Law in the field.
