Fifteen foreign ministers urged the international community to recognize the Palestine state As a key step towards the solution of the two states, after a high -level conference held on Wednesday in New York.
OK With a cable signed by Europa Press and Sputnikthe ministers of Andorra, Australia, Canada, Finland, France, Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Slovenia and Spain, some of which already recognize Palestine or have expressed their willingness to do so, signed a joint statement.
In it, they stressed that this recognition is essential to move towards a solution that guarantees peaceful coexistence between Israel and Palestine.
They proposed to unite Gaza and the West Bank under the Palestinian authority and normalize relations with Israel, promoting negotiations for their regional integration.

The statement highlighted the commitments of the president of the Palestinian authority, announced on June 10, which include condemning the attacks of October 7, demanding the release of hostages, disarming Hamas, reforming the educational system, eliminating payments to prisoners, calling elections in a year and accepting a demilitarized Palestinian state.
The foreign ministers also advocated a plan for the reconstruction of Gaza and the disarmament of Hamas, urging other countries to join these initiatives to consolidate peace.
Although the text does not detail the deadlines for these actions or the format of the proposed negotiations, the declaration reflects an effort to reactivate dialogue in a tensions context.
The British government said that it will recognize the State of Palestine in September, before the celebration of the UN General Assembly, if Israel does not meet a series of conditions mentioned on Tuesday by the British Prime Minister, Keir Starmer.
In an emergency meeting of the Minister Council, Starmer demanded that Israel commit to a long -term peace process that achieves a solution of two states, one Israeli and the other Palestinian, and that ends with the “catastrophic situation in Gaza.”
The prime minister has faced a growing pressure from his Labor Party to adopt a tougher line towards Israel.
This position was exacerbated after Recent announcement of President Emmanuel Macron that France would recognize a Palestinian state in September, becoming the first country of the G7 to do so.
In his letter, Macron advocated that the state of Palestine is finally built, in addition to “ensuring its viability and allowing, accepting its demilitarization and fully recognizing Israel, participate in everyone’s security in the Middle East. There is no alternative”.
