The Federal Senate is responsible for suing and judging STF ministers regarding liability crimes. These crimes are defined in Law No. 1,079/1950known as impeachment law.
The crimes listed are: to change, in any way, except by appeal, the decision or vote already rendered at the Court’s session; trial, when, by law, be suspected in the case; Perform political-party activity; be patently disadvantaged in the fulfillment of the duties of the position; and proceed incompatible with the honor dignity and decorum of their functions.
