The information was offered on Tuesday by the directors of the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (IDAC), Igor Rodríguez, and the Airport Department (DA), Víctor Pichardo, during the presentation of the Dominican Air Force Modernization Projectat the headquarters of the institution.
With this proposal, an already built track of 2,165 meters in length will be modernized. The lighting system and signalingboth certified by ICAO and FAA of the United States. These tasks, executed by the airport department, will be ready in October of this year, according to its owner.
The IDAC, meanwhile, is in charge of equipment and physical infrastructure, which includes a control tower 30 meters high, last generation, with a pre -assembled cabin equipped with systems encrypted communication.
Rodríguez indicated that the structure is certified to resist winds of hurricanes from Category 5 on the Saffir-Simpson scale and will be delivered in August.
