Boluarte said that his government has taken concrete measures in favor of vulnerable populations and for that Kusiñán is born.
“My government has arranged concrete actions in favor of the vulnerable populations of our country, where girls, boys, adolescents, women, people with disabilities and older adults, are subject to our attention through the different sector interventions, which derive from the public policies implemented by our government,” he said.
What is the Kusiñan program?
The president announced that at the end of her management, on July 28, 2026, the social program called Kusiñán. This initiative, said Boluarte, will be a “economic assistance program for orphanhood”,
“A path of hope and an example that the State can be present with sensitivity and commitment,” he said.
Kusiñan in Quechua means “happy path.” This program will provide economic assistance and comprehensive accompaniment to minors in a situation of orphanhood, expanding the scope of the aid that already received more than 116 thousand beneficiaries with a subsidy of 400 bimonthly soles.
The minister of women and vulnerable populations, Fanny Montellanos, said the Kusiñan program was born during the pandemic to support children who were orphaned. However, he pointed out that his reach will be extended to all children who lose one of their parents and live in poverty.
“The State must guarantee not only economic support, but also access to health, education, monitoring and comprehensive accompaniment,” said Andina.
