Santo Domingo.– The President Luis Abinader rIt was a visit of supervision to the San Isidro Air Basewhere he could verify the advances in the assembly of the TP-75 Dulus aircrafta modern national manufacturing aircraft that will contribute to strengthening the operational capacity of the Dominican Air Force.
During the tour, the president also inspected the work of expansion and lighting of the main track, a Key intervention to improve the operability of the base in routine missions and in situations of emergency.
When referring to the project, Abinader highlighted the assembly of the TP-75 Dulus as an important technological advance for the country and recognition of the technical talent of the Dominican Air Force.
The initiative contemplates the local production of 10 aircraftwhich represents a milestone for the national aeronautical industry and reinforces the strategic autonomy of the Armed forces.
With this visit, The president reaffirms his commitment to the modernization of the country’s logistics, technological and defense capacitieswhile driving the development of a national aeronautical industry with a vision of the future.

Surveillance of national sovereignty

On his side, the Deputy Minister of Defense For aerial and spatial matters, Major General Carlos Ramón Febrillet Rodríguez, made an exhibition with the assembly details of the TP-75 Dulus and added that, to date there are five available and two patrols on the southern and north border for the surveillance of national sovereignty.
Febrillet also explained that this aircraft has 5,000 pieces and that for December it is expected that the country has a total of ten and said that, when national demand is supplanted, the assembly will begin with the demand for the demand of other countries that have been contacted.
He pointed out that this is not just an aeronautical project, but is a state strategy that strengthens technological sovereignty, generates specialized human capital and transforms the armed forces into a key actor of national development.
About the TP-75 Dulus
The TP-75 Dulus is an aircraft of training and patrols assembled by the Air Force of the Dominican Republic (FARD). This model is based on the Tucano replica 915is, developed by the Italian company Flying Legend, and constitutes a 70 % replica of the EMB-312 Tucano Embraer.

The name “Dulus” pays tribute to the Cigua Palmera, national bird of the Dominican Republic and identity and resistance symbol.

Designed for primary training and light patrol missions, the TP-75 Dulus has modern airplane system, autopilot and parachute integrated, as part of the process of modernization and strengthening of the institution’s operational capabilities.
This project is part of the FARD’s strategy to consolidate the international projection of Dominican aviation and promote technical exchange in the aerospace sector.
Supervision with a landing floor and control tower
The Head of State also supervised the lighting of the landing floor and the control tower, where he stressed that the investment made more security of the country which receives more than 12 million tourists annually.
“Everything is reinforcement of technology aid air security and mainly in this case in addition to strengthening the Dominican Air Force with a truly complete airport as it did not have it before, it is an alternate airport that gives it security and also elevates us in the category of the Américas International Airport, Dr. Francisco Peña Gómez,” said the president.

He added that this airport gives you more security in the face of any eventuality that may happen.
Meanwhile, the director of the Dominican Airport Department, Víctor Pichardo, informed that the institution he directs, is responsible for the lighting and signaling of the San Isidro Air Base Air field and clarified that he not only illuminates the track, also the Way taxi, the parking platform of the track which has a length of 2,165 meters. These works have an investment of RD $ 175 million pesos.
Also, the director of the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (IDAC), Igor Rodríguez, informed that they make an investment of RD $ 650 million pesos where an intervention of equipment and physical structure is made with the construction of a control tower of about 30 meters high.
This has a pre -assembly cabin that is scheduled to be delivered on August 30. Rodríguez said that, it also has communication equipment with the latest generation aircraft, which are encrypted.
They accompanied President Abinader during the supervision, the Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Carlos Antonio Fernández Onofre; the general commander of the FARD; Major Pilot General, Floreal Suárez Martínez and media directors.
