The Huancavelicana Fondista Zaida Ramos, a native of the Salcabamba district (Tayacaja), reached fifth in the women’s elite category of the Half Marathon of Bogotá (21K), played last Sunday, July 27 in Colombia.

With a time of 1 hour 15 minutes and 2 seconds, Ramos became the only Latin American representative on the podium of this demanding competition, which develops more than 2,600 meters above sea level.
“I am grateful to my team and Kallpa for their support. This motivates me to continue representing Peru in more competitions,” said the athlete, backed by the Kallpa company, operator of the Cerro del Águila hydroelectric plant.

The Tayacajina had already shone this year after winning the average marathon 42k Lima 2025 on May 25, in which he imposed a new national record in the 21K with a time of 1 hour 10 minutes and 5 seconds. He is currently preparing for his next international competitions.
