The Comptroller of the Republic proved the poor state of conservation of mailboxes of the Ignacio Merino urbanizationas well as the presence of objects within them, which affects the normal functioning and operability of the sewerage system, with the risk of traffic jams and sewage anies that will harm the health and public safety of the beneficiary population.
According to Report No. 014-2025-OCI/3470-SOO during the route carried out by the Control Commission on July 15, 2025, together with the EPS Grau staff, the state of conservation of the mailboxes located in the Ignacio Merino urbanization and in Andrés Avelino Avelino Cáceres Avenue, as well as the functionality and operation of these.

The auditors said that the mailbox that is located on “A” avenue inside the facilities Al Saree does not have a concrete cover, but a wooden, and its walls have suffered wear in concrete.
“It was found that its walls have suffered wear in concrete, so it is possible to appreciate thick aggregates can detach and hinder sewer networks, being able to produce aniegos and thereby affect the health of the population when diseases occur as a result of the exposure of sewage,” says OCI.
And in the mailbox located on Av. Andrés Avelino Cáceres, it was evidenced that the roof of the mailbox is in poor condition and with a lid, however, to collapse the roof, it could cause accidents to the population that circulates there.
“It is evidenced that the poor state of conservation of the mailboxes, as well as the presence of elements that may hinder the correct fluid of the water, generate the risk of traffic jams and with it, sewage aniegos,” concludes the Comptroller.
