While Raumelis aggressors remain under investigation, their relatives denounce threats and alert about the possible release of involved.
Santiago de Cuba, Cuba.- Raumelis Victorero Rivera was killed to Machetazos on July 22, in the El Manguito community, specifically in the area known as Corralón, in Songo la MayaSantiago de Cuba. He had just registered his newborn daughter when she was ambushed on a path traveled by at least four people.
The attackers attacked him brutally, especially concentrating on their limbs. Although he was promptly helped, Raumelis bleeding before reaching the Polyclinic of the Maya, located several kilometers away.

The story has a background of resentment and revenge. “They framed it. They were waiting for him,” says a maternal cousin, who preferred not to reveal his identity for fear of reprisals. “He was his exciting, with whom he had had problems before. They left him thrown after almost tear his arms and legs. It was his little brother, only 19, who found him. Although he was running to the polyclinic, it was too late. The wounds were very serious.”
As the source details, two years ago Raumelis injured his brother -in -law during a fight. Since then, the man was left with a disability and promised publicly to take revenge. He fulfilled it, attacking Raumelis’s limbs directed.
Just that disability suggests that, although he was the main author of the crime, He did not act alone. In fact, three more people were arrested as suspicious. However, relatives fear that the authorities are trying to free the accomplices and concentrate guilt only in the exciting.
“If he assumes all the responsibility, the other three will be free, and that puts us in danger,” denounces the premium. “My cousin was already threatened by one of these people, one day after the murder. Therefore, it is not only unfair, but also dangerous. All who participated must pay, even those who stayed without doing anything. That everyone rot in jail!”
The family has begun procedures to hire a lawyer and file a formal complaint for threats. They fear that crime does not receive the attention or punishment it deserves. “Here in Cuba it is more serious kill a cow than killing a person, ”says the woman, with visible helplessness.
Raumelis was a peasant. It was dedicated to the raising of animals and agriculture. He always lived in that community. On August 5 he would have turned 35. After his death, there is a devastated wife, two small daughters – one of just one month of born -, elderly parents, brothers and cousins in pain.
As if that were not enough, the images of his body – unude, injured, lifeless – were filtered and began to circulate in the community. The photographs show it on the stretcher of the Polyclinic Guard Corps, shortly after being declared dead. The rawness of these images has further amplified the suffering of their loved ones.
“Every time I close my eyes, I see the photos. I can’t take them off my head. I had never seen so much cruelty so closely. What they did has no name, it was inhuman. It is not fair,” concludes his cousin, with the broken voice.
