The mayor of the province of Arequipa, Víctor Hugo Rivera Chávez, regretted that the president of the Republic, Dina Boluarte, has not made a mea blame in the message to the nation for the mistakes made during her management.
The mayor questioned the president for limiting himself to listing a series of works, as if he lived in a country distant from reality, without necessarily coinciding with reality. “He needs to approach the people, when he arrives in Arequipa is surrounded by police”he said.
The municipal authority said that, in the year left for management, the president should focus on Recover credibility and strengthen governance, especially in a context marked by the next electoral processes.
Rivera considered that the speech was excessively extensive for a start of management and detailed in issues that could have been addressed from the ministries. Also described as “hilly”The beginning of the message, by touching a sensitive issue such as the attempt to autogolpe by former president Pedro Castillo, who resulted in a social crisis with unfortunate human losses. “They are sensitive issues that we should be careful when touching, because they are wounds that still do not heal.”said.
Rivera acknowledged from Boluarte’s speech Reactivation of some projects in Arequipathe impulse to the works of the Goyeneche hospital, the solar plants, etc. However, he regretted that the speech has focused its Attention in Lima and the central region, leaving aside the urgent needs to improve the quality of urban transport in other cities, characterized by the infrastructure deficit and the growing statistics of the automotive park.
“In Arequipa we face a chaotic transport due to the lack of road rings, exchanges and new ways. This situation was not mentioned despite its direct impact on the quality of life of millions of citizens”said the burgomaster.
Rivera recalled that the Provincial Municipality of Arequipa receives just six million soles for the concept of Mining Canonan insufficient figure to finance large works. In that sense, he reiterated his order to the central government to assign budget to two key projects: the Vía Yura – Yuramayo and the Umapalca bridgewhich, “said,” are stagnant by bureaucratic observations.
He said that the big investments, indicated in the message, are for the capital, such as Line 2 of the Lima Metro, which already exceeds 70% progress, and the peripheral road ring, with an investment of 3.4 billion dollars.
“Lima’s infrastructure stood out enthusiastically, but nothing was said about how bottlenecks will be treated in cities like Arequipa”critical.
