If you are a rookie in the world of off-road driving and you have a vehicle with 4×4 equipment, I will recommend the five best routes you can attend in Mexico. Best of all, they are organized by the Bosco’s Camp 4×4 team, the most experienced and professional in this area with 24 years of experience. All are part of the National Off Road circuit, and are characterized by their beginner level. In them you will know the equipment of your car, the situations where each of their tools must be activated as well as the conduct techniques necessary for each challenge.
The constant on each date is the environment of friendship and cooperation among the participants, which are commonly originally from different states of the country.
Safari Kids – Amacuzac, Morelos
This family route takes place along the Amacuzac River, where 90% of the tour is made within the channel. It is ideal to learn Vadeo (water crossing) techniques, traction control and snorkeling if your vehicle equips it. It is done in spring and is designed for children and companions to live the adventure safely. The main challenge is to keep the vehicle stable in current and areas with a lodious background.
One of the most fun and expected events in each season since it is specifically designed for minors. Activities keep children entertaining.
Jeepera Skull – Aguascalientes
The Jeepera skull takes place in early November and combines rural roads with rocyous and descending rocky areas. It is an excellent opportunity to practice the use of a reducer, know the torque of your vehicle and learn to choose the best line on stony paths. It also includes theme of the day of the dead, ideal for the whole family.
Thanks to the land and the roads that each crew faces, it is ideal to know the basic equipment of your vehicle, as with the 4×4 traction system.
CUICATLÁN ROUTE – Tehuacán, Puebla
Made in autumn, this route runs through the arid region of the Tehuacán-Cuicatlán Biosphere Reserve. The main challenges are the sections on dry channels with loose stones, and areas with millenary vegetation that requires precision when maneuvering. It is perfect for driving on dry land, reading the land and activating electronic assists such as descent control.
The semi -desert terrain is the main attraction of this date. Due to the conditions it is essential to use sunscreen and be well hydrated. The terrain with loose stones demands concentration behind the wheel.
Petrified Dunas – Taxco, Guerrero
This route is made during the summer and stands out for its peculiar land that reminds Moab, Utah. Obstacles include rock formations with great traction, closed curves and steps between cannons. Ideal to learn about suspension articulation, use of lockers/differential blocks (if your vehicle has them), and adequate pressure of rock tires. It is one of the favorites for beginners for their landscape and controlled challenge.
Another event that requires being well prepared physically due to the heat and humidity of the area. Here the drivers also learn to be careful with the accelerator administration.
Sandfest – Túxpam, Veracruz
The Sandfest takes place every year during the summer on the beaches of Túxpam. It is a route designed for those who want to experience driving on deep sand, learn to deflate tires, maintain impulse and leave soft areas. Basic techniques are also taught not to get stuck, such as the correct use of total traction and unblocking plates. It is a fun and safe experience for everyone.
An attractive route that in each edition, a significant number of applicants does not reach a place. The driving on the beach and the sand, are the main reasons why one of the most fun of the year is considered.
