CNE awards 304 mayors and the opposition maintains spaces in four states

The National Electoral Council (CNE) announced on Sunday, July 27, the award of 304 of the 335 mayors in dispute throughout the country, as well as a 44% participation “of active electors and electors.”

According to the results read by the president of the CNE, Elvis Amoroso, the opposition won in municipalities such as Chacao, Baruta, El Hatillo and Los Salias (San Antonio de los Altos) of the Miranda State, in Maneiro (Nueva Esparta), San Diego (Carabobo state) and Diego Bautista Urbaneja (Dairy, Anzoátegui state). In almost all – to the exception of San Antonio de los Altos – the opposition mayors were reelected for another four years.

“Democracy won, the only way to guarantee peace,” said loving before reading the results “with irreversible tendency” in 34 municipalities in the country.

In this municipal election (with 82.45% of tables transmission), “more than 44% of active voters” participated, according to loving, which “projected to 100% participation represents 6,273,531 voters and electors.” But when taking the electoral record enabled for these elections, the real participation would be 29%.

The agency still does not explain what it refers to the term “active voters”, which it has used since the last elections of May 25.

In addition, the CNE indicated that 2,182 positions of the 2,471 councilors have been awarded to choose in these elections. Unlike other processes, the agency also did not detail the number of positions that it obtained, both in mayors and in municipal councils, each party or political alliance.

In the last municipal elections, the United Socialist Party of Venezuela and the Great Patriotic Pole obtained 212 of the 335 mayors in dispute. That correlation changed to 216 with the resignations, deaths and “talanquera jumps” of the mayors. The Democratic Unit (MUD) table, which participated in the 2021 elections, obtained 58 mayors; while the Democratic Alliance achieved 38 mayors and neighborhood force 10.

Next, the municipalities awarded by the CNE this July 27:

  1. Libertador Municipality (Caracas): Reelecta Carmen Meléndez (PSUV) with 350,995 votes
  2. Chacao Municipality (Miranda State): Reelect Gustavo Duque (Neighborhood Force) with 16,243 votes.
  3. Baruta Municipality (Miranda State): Reelect Darwin González (Neighborhood Force) with 20,622 votes.
  4. El Hatillo Municipality (Miranda): Fernando hair (neighborhood force).
  5. Sucre Municipality (Miranda): Diogenes Lara (PSUV) with 75,277 votes.
  6. Simón Bolívar municipality (Barcelona, Anzoátegui): Sugey Herrera (PSUV) with 90.86% of the votes.
  7. Sotillo Municipality (Puerto La Cruz, Anzoátegui): Jose Gregorio Maldonado (PSUV) with 6,605 votes.
  8. Urbaneja Municipality (dairy, Anzoátegui): Reelect Manuel Ferreira (Neighborhood Force) with 7,247 votes.
  9. San Fernando Municipality (Apure): Joel Solorzano with 28,502 votes.
  10. Girardot Municipality (Maracay, Aragua): Reelect Rafael Morales Cazorla with 27,272 votes.
  11. Barinas municipality: Argenis Aldazzoro (PSUV) with 39,254 votes.
  12. Angostura Municipality of Orinoco (Ciudad Bolívar, Bolívar): Sergio Hernández with 39,668 votes.
  13. Valencia Municipality (Carabobo): Dina Castillo Ortega (PSUV) with 67,280 votes.
  14. San Diego Municipality (Carabobo): Reelecto León Jurado (Neighborhood Force) with 6,396 votes.
  15. Ezequiel Zamora municipality (San Carlos, Cojedes): Alexander Mireles (come on Cojedes) with 14,441 votes.
  16. Miranda Municipality (Choir, Falcón): Henry Hernández (PSUV) with 31,774 votes.
  17. Juan Germán Roscio municipality (San Juan de los Morros, Guárico): Katherine Guanipa (PSUV) with 80.16% of the votes.
  18. Iribarren Municipality (Barquismeto, Lara): Yanis Agüero (PSUV) with 73.95% of the votes.
  19. Libertador Municipality (Mérida): Nelson León (PSUV) with 27,124 votes.
  20. Guaicaipuro Municipality (Los Teques, Miranda): Reelect Farith Fraija (PSUV) with 41,148 votes.
  21. Los Salias municipality (Miranda): Edgar Laya (Min Unit) with 58.33% of the votes.
  22. Maturín Municipality (Monagas): Reelecta Ana Fuentes (PSUV) with 92,219 votes.
  23. Juan Bautista municipality (Nueva Esparta): Reelect Ali Romero (PSUV) with 6,224 votes.
  24. Maneiro Municipality (Nueva Esparta): Reelect Morel Rodríguez (Neighborhood Force) with 9,074 votes.
  25. Mariño municipality (Nueva Esparta). Eneas González (PSUV) with 17,356 votes.
  26. Guanare Municipality (Portuguese): Oscar Noboa (PSUV) with 27,562 votes.
  27. Sucre Municipality (Cumaná): Pedro Figueroa (PSUV) with 84,283 votes.
  28. San Cristobal Municipality (Táchira): Reelect Silfredo Zambrando (PSUV) with 27,153 votes.
  29. Trujillo municipality (Trujillo): Carlos Terán (PSUV) with 9,714 votes.
  30. San Felipe municipality (Yaracuy): Roger Daza (PSUV) with 21,706 votes.
  31. Maracaibo Municipality (Zulia): Gian Carlo Di Martino with 137,998 votes.
  32. ATURES MUNICIPALITY (Amazonas): Kissi Amaro (PSUV) with 16,183 votes.
  33. Tucupita Municipality (Delta Amacuro): Arnaldo Rodríguez (PSUV) with 97.24% of the votes.
  34. Vargas Municipality (La Guaira): Reelect José Suárez (PSUV) with 99,263 votes.
