Mauricio Pochettino criticized party arbitrators for three key decisions in the defeat of the Americans by 1-2 in the final of the Gold Cup of the Concacaf before Mexicosaying that they would not allow a video review to deny a goal by El Tri for the third time in the tournament.

Pochettino felt that his team should have been granted a penalty by a hand of Jorge Sánchez in the 67th minute. He also said that Diego Luna should not have been sanctioned by the foul that led to the free kick that prepared the goal of Edson Álvarez’s tiebreaker in the 77th minute and that the original decision he ruled out of the game of Álvarez should have maintained.

Pochettino said that if similar decisions had been made against Mexico, “it would be a fire in the stadium. But for us, it is, ‘ok, they are good people. They are good people. It is not a problem'”.
