“Mexico deeply knows these challenges. Wounds caused by organized crime, corruption, economic inequality are real,” he said in an event in the Apostolic Nunciature in Mexico.
Gallagher said that the Mexican people are resilient and that the Church must work together with civil society and the State “not to dominate, but to serve; not to impose, but to accompany.”
The Vatican diplomatic representative recognized the role of Mexico for the promotion of dialogue and peace in Latin America.
He assured that it seeks to promote peace and cooperation channels, as well as a culture of the meeting that prioritizes listening, especially of the displaced and exploited people, migrants and relatives of the disappeared.
