According to official information, the mother, a 22 -year -old girl, would have used a sharp weapon to hurt the child. Subsequently, he tried to take his life with the same weapon, causing self -inflicted injuries.
What is known about the brutal attack?
The events were recorded around 11:40 in the morning, inside an apartment of the San Sebastián residential team, in Manizales. According to testimonies collected by local media, the mother would have attacked her daughter in an alleged episode of anger.
The girl, only 4 years old, had a deep wound in her neck, but still had vital signs when she was found by some residents of the sector. Immediately, the neighbors alerted emergency services and collaborated in the transfer of the child.
Shocking videos circulate in social networks that show chaos lived in the place: the despair of those who tried to help, the lifeguards are seen acting, and the neighbors full of rage and impotence are heard.
In one of the recordings, a person is observed by carrying the slightest wound, and in another the mother appears, indicated as the aggressor, in the midst of the shock.
The response of lifeguards and police
The woman was found by the police inside the house, in a state of shock and with serious injuries, so she was taken to a health center in custody.
The little girl was urgently transferred to the SES University Hospital of Caldas in critical condition. There, a medical team made intense maneuvers to revive it, including emergency thoracotomy, intraóseos access and direct cardiac massage.
The exact circumstances of the attack remain under investigation by the Attorney General’s Office. Although it is presumed that the mother used a white weapon to assault her daughter, the details have not yet been officially confirmed.
