McLaren’s Briton Lando Norris expected to reduce the distance to the Australian teammate Oscar Pistri in the Formula 1 classification after registering the pole position in the Belgium GP in Spa-Francorchamps.
However, at the end of this Sunday’s race (27) the opposite happened: Pistri surpassed him at the start, won the race and expanded the advantage in front of the table. Norris was the second and Ferrari Charles Leclerc completed the podium.
THE Brazilian Gabriel Bortoleto, from Sauber, arrived in ninth and scored for the second time in the season.
The race in Belgium was late in 1 hour and 20 minutes due to heavy rain. In Relagada, Pistri overtook Norris and no longer gave the rival’s, who tried a recovery in the final laps.
Pistri reached the sixth victory of the season, reaching 266 points, against 250 from Norris.
The Bortoleto race was highly positive. He started tenth, had a dispute with his companion Nico Hulkenberg, but managed to earn a position, ending in ninth. He added two points and now has six in total.
The other four were won at the Austria GP a month ago when he finished eighth.
THE 14th race of the season, the Hungary GP, will be next weekend, August 1st to 3rd.
