Popular disapproval to the management of President of Peru, Dina Boluarte, It rose to 97 % in this month, at the beginning of its last year in the Executive (2022-2026), for the massive rejection of its salary increase to more than $ 10,000 per month, according to a survey of the CPI company published this Sunday.
The CPI study explained that the approval to Boluarte fell to 2.1 % in July, while 0.9 % remained indifferent, the lowest percentages so far in the management of the president, which on Monday will offer a Message to La Nación with an evaluation of his government on the occasion of Independence Day.
The disapproval of the management of Boluarte is also explained by the rejection of 98.2 % of the population, according to the CPI survey disseminated by the RPP station, to the recent salary increase of the president, which more than doubled the previous economic allocation.
In the regions of the center and south of the country, the rejection of the president rose to 98.8 %, while in the Amazon East it was 97.7 %.
The Central and Surandinas localities of Peru have maintained a tense relationship with Boluarte since the beginning of their management due to the dozens of fatalities that occurred following the protests of the late 2022 and the beginning of 2023 against the dismissal of former president Pedro Castillo for his attempted coup d’etat.
In addition, 57.6 % replied that Boluarte has been ‘very incapable’ In its government management capacity, followed by 36 % who considered it ‘incapable’.
70 % asked Boluarte to stop being president as soon as possible, against 29 % who prefers to end the mandate on July 28 of next year.
The president has minimized the results of the popularity surveys and in a recent intervention he asked the polls to put zero, at once, because she measured her approval in the streets.
However, another survey published this Sunday by the newspaper La República of the IEP company revealed that its disapproval remains at 93.9 % and its approval in 3.6 %, which, still, makes it the president with the greatest disapproval of the last 13 years.
39 % of IEP surveyed said that the Boluarte’s salary increase, 31 % disappointment and 12 % a feeling of injustice generated angry.
The CPI survey was applied to a universe of 1,200 people nationwide, between July 18 and 24, with a 95.5 % confidence level and a 2.8 % margin of error.
