The Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) advances in the fulfillment of strategy goals 2-30-100
with which it is sought to raise the number of surgeries that are carried out daily from 3,537 to 6,666. According to the most recent report, the figure of 4 thousand 756 was reached in June.
From January to date, 760 thousand 277 surgeries have been carried out and 12.3 million specialty consultations and 53 million family medicine have been given, as part of the actions to improve the care of the right holders.
In a statement, Social Security stressed that the objective are 2 million surgeries, 30 million specialty consultations and 100 million family medicine at the end of 2025.
The IMSS General Director, Zoé Robledo, stressed that the historical investments of the Institute in recent years to strengthen medical infrastructure with the construction of hospitals, the maintenance and conservation of the units, the hiring of personnel, the supply of medicines and supplies and the budget allocation, allows to strengthen the strategy 2-30-100
.
He stressed the importance of the participation of the state representatives of the Institute to supervise the progress of the strategy and verify the proper functioning of the services provided in the medical units of second and third level, where surgeries are carried out, and specialty and family medicine consultations are given. All issues are relevant when they impact the metric and strategy goal
he added.
The head of the Planning Department for Institutional Transformation (DPTI), Arturo Johnatan by Lucio Ortega, indicated that to strengthen the surgical interventions section, the Institute has 1,107 operating rooms in second and third level hospitals.
