The political leader Ruth Nina appeared this Saturday before a judge with a totally different attitude from the one she usually showed in her multiple public appearances and even, for the first time, apologized for her controversial warning against the elections.
“I want to apologize from the bottom of my heart because it has never been (the intention), in any way, threaten or intimidate. They are very internal meetings, it was not a press conference either, so I ask again that I consider my apologies from the bottom of my heart, because I am not a criminal person, I have no criminal records, ”said Nina before a judge of Shinahota, who defined her legal situation in a virtual hearing of precautionary measures.
On July 12, Nina participated in an extended of the followers of former President Evo Morales in the Tropic of Cochabamba and in that event said that “the Electoral Court and the Government, instead of counting votes, will count dead” in the general elections of next August 17.
Those sayings generated a wave of questions and even the opening of a criminal process. But the leader, instead of apologizing, opted, at least initially, to insist on her position. “I do not regret, I would ratify myself and fly to ratify,” he said at a press conference.
However, this Saturday, he changed posture, at least before the judge, in an attempt to avoid his imprisonment.
“I promise to submit to any research action that your authority provides. I will no longer issue this type of statements which are misunderstood during this electoral stage. More on the contrary, Now (I’m going to) take rhetoric and words That, from now on, as a union leader, he can ever broadcast, ”he said.
“So, A thousand apologies lady judge and the entire population If so really merits my behavior. I am a woman, I am human and I think that err is humans and apologize for people, so again I apologize to his authority lady judge, ”he insisted.
But their apologies were not enough. The judge determined the preventive detention of NINA for three months in the San Sebastián Mujeres prison, in Cochabamba, where it was almost immediately transferred.
While she was admitted to the prison, Nina forgot about “caring” his words and shouted: “They can imprison us, they can take away our freedom, but they will never break our revolutionary spirit and I want to tell my brothers: Kawsachun Coca (…) hell! It is an honor to enter jail for our people, for our women, so that they never shut up!”
