The Prosecutor’s Office of Veracruz reported that in an operation carried out in Las Choapas, coordinated by elements of that agency and federals, they were arrested Victor Manuel “N” and José Eduardo “N”, identified as probable members of a criminal group and alleged involved in the kidnapping and death of the taxi driver.
In a second operation, Uniformed arrested Jeana Paola “N”, who also belongs to the same criminal cell and is related to the facts against Irma Hernández Cruz.
The three detainees were made available to the ministerial authorities and will be taken before a control judge, where their legal status will be defined.
According to his search file, Irma Hernández Cruz disappeared on July 18 in the vicinity of the taxi site where he worked. Days later, a video in social networks was announced in which he looks kneeling and surrounded by people dressed in black, hooded and carrying long weapons.
In the video, the woman directs a message to her fellow taxi drivers in which she asks to pay her quotas to a group of the Veracruz mafia.
“My name is Irma Hernández Cruz, the 554 taxi handle. Taxi companions, with the Veracruz mafia do not play. They pay their quota as it should be with them and stop walking with the charros who only extort us, or they will end up like me,” they force the taxi driver.
In her morning conference this Friday, President Claudia Sheinbaum lamented the kidnapping and murder of the retired teacher. He assured that the case is thoroughly investigated and that the Attorney General’s Office and other federal forces already collaborate with the state authorities to resolve it.
“First, that this woman’s death was clarified. Also that, according to the information you have, what is the context of this situation. Of course it is unfortunate that this happens,” said the president.
This Friday, the governor of Veracruz, Rocío NahleHe confirmed that, according to the Forensic report, Hernández Cruz died because of a heart attack caused by the violence exerted by his captors.
