A Venezuelan military died during an armed confrontation with a criminal gang linked to the National Liberation Army (ELN) in La Fría, García de Hevia municipality of the Táchira state.
During the confrontation an alleged member of the National Liberation Army (ELN) also lost his life. The deceased military was identified as Andry Giovanny Vela Álvarez, who was a second sergeant of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB).

A police minute indicated that Vela Álvarez died after hours of agony.
A note published by The whistle He pointed out that during the procedure the Bolivarian National Guard seized two vehicles, one of them, a armored truck; two guns and two AR-15 rifles. The official version indicates that six guerrillas were arrested.
