Huancayo: Entrepreneur lifts hunger strike after 9 days and achieves payment commitment

After nine days on hunger strike and chained at the door of the District Municipality of El Tambo, businessman Fredy Walter Coarita Coarita raised his extreme measure after confirming that the payment of S/ 793,500 is already in process.

On Friday night, Coarita was helped by neighbors and evaluated by SAMU personnel due to their delicate state of health. Although the amount is still accrued and turned, the process is expected to be completed in the next few hours.

“Thank you, this had to do it in December,” he said in the broken voice showing the document confirming the procedure. He also apologized to the population for the public exhibition of the Municipality.

The businessman began his protest on July 17, after months of waiting for the payment corresponding to the delivery of musical instruments to 44 educational institutions. His case highlighted the critical financial situation of the management of Mayor Julio César Llallico, who maintains debts with at least another ten suppliers.

Coarita thanked the people who supported him during the strike and highlighted the role of the municipal manager to facilitate the procedures that will allow the payment of payment.
