THE Senator Marcos do Val (Somos) confirmed on Thursday (24) have traveled to the United States, despite having their passports blocked by the Supreme Court (STF).
According to a statement issued by the parliamentarian’s advisory, the trip was made with a diplomatic passport that stayed with Marcos do Val despite an order of STF Minister Alexandre de Moraes last year to have determined the seizure of the document.
“The diplomatic passport is fully valid until July 31, 2027, without any restrictions. On July 22, 2025, the Senator’s Embassy in Brasilia renewed the official Official Visa (B1/B2), which attests to the full international recognition of its legitimacy and diplomatic regularity,” says the parliamentary note.
The Federal Police (PF) searched personal and professional addresses from Val, but at the time did not find the diplomatic passport. In February, the decision for the seizure and blockade of the document was unanimously confirmed by the first class of the Supreme, composed of five ministers: besides Moraes himself, Cristiano Zanin, Luiz Fux, Flávio Dino and Cármen Lúcia.

THE Measure was determined in an investigation in which the parliamentarian is investigated for allegedly promoting a campaign to intimidate and embarrass investigators of the Federal Police (PF). In the same decision, it was also determined the blockade of Marcos do Val’s social networks, which was forbidden to comment on these platforms on the Internet.
This month, Marcos do Val filed a Supreme request to travel on vacation with his family to the United States, but had his request denied by Moraes. It is unclear how the parliamentarian left the country even with a pending order of apprehension of his passport.
