Already in the ocean, these nutrients are transported by the winds, an air current that blows from the subtropical regions to Ecuador.
The wind that enters the sea through the area of the Cabo Verde Archipelago is the one that drags the greatest amount of nutrients, because it penetrates through a more humid area.
Many of those nutrients that make up Sahara’s dust are deposited in the Cibao Valley and fertilize the agricultural fields of the area.
That is one of the reasons that explain why Cibao (Dominican Republic Zone) is a place so rich in the agricultural field.
