Subsequently, he served as Vice Minister of Fiscal Policy (2012–2013) and Public Credit (2013–2016), being one of the key technical figures in the processes of reforms and in negotiations with multilateral organizations. He was also general director of Internal Taxes between 2016 and 2020.

In addition to his experience in executive functions, Díaz has been an advisor to institutions such as the Ministry of Economy, the General Directorate of Customs, the Superintendence of Banks and the National Congress, as well as the Dominican Corporation of State Electric Companies (CDEEE), where it contributed in issues of macroeconomic sustainability and tax regulation.

Internationally, He has been a World Bank consultant and of Inter -American Development Bank (IDB)and has advised Governments of El Salvador, Honduras, Belize and Uruguay in macroeconomic fiscal and political reforms.
