José Maldonado, director of the Juan Pablo Pérez Alfonzo airport, located in El Vigía, reported that the air terminal will suspend its operations for approximately 20 days from September 15 due to reconditioning work.
Maldonado explained that among the works to be carried out are the complete asphalting of the main track and the general maintenance of the infrastructure, in order to guarantee security and improve the service of users.
Avior, Laser and Stellar airlines, which serve this terminal, can temporarily operate from the airports of La Fría or Santa Barbara del Zulia, said the official according to statements reviewed in The Universal. He recommended to passengers reschedule their travel plans.
El Vigía airport is considered the main route of access to the Mérida state and a key connection point with other regions of the country.
It has an infrastructure of 3,750 square meters, a security zone of about 150 meters and a runway 3,240 meters throughout 60 wide, this being the second most extensive in Venezuela, after that of the Simón Bolívar Maiquetía International Airport.
