International payments with PayPal World
The platform seeks to solve the problems in the payment method in international purchases or make transfers, deleting different barriers and delays in digital portfolio services.
With PayPal World, users will have access to purchases in millions of businesses, both online and in physical stores and with AI agents, and they can pay using their wallet and local currency.
They may also have the option of making money transfers without restrictions on wallet users in other countries.
The benefits are not limited to the common user, but also to companies. Through the alliance with Venmo, business will be able to have an expansion to new markets, almost 2,000 million users, with more payment options that will be accepted automatically after a Checkoutwithout the need to invest in more technology.
Mercado Pago binds to the Alliance
The president and executive director of PayPal, Alex Chriss, reported that this ecosystem will bring together many payment systems to promote a digital, global and inclusive economy, with the potential to revolutionize border trade.
In this alliance, Mercado Pago confirmed its collaboration with Paypal World.
“We are excited about this tremendous opportunity. This association brings together our collective strengths to simplify cross -border trade, based on the success that each of us has achieved in our respective markets,” said Osvaldo Giménez, Executive Director of Mercado Pago.
Other companies that joined in this first stage with PayPal are NPCI International Payments Limited (UPI) of India, China Global Tenpay, Venmo in the United States.
“The integration of UPI into the PayPal World platform will mark a significant step in the global expansion of UPI (…) This collaboration improves the convenience for Indian users who make payments abroad and allows global businesses and businesses to access a growing base of UPI users,” said Ritesh Shukla, general director and CEO of NPCI International Payments Limited.
Meanwhile, Wenhui Yang, CEO of Tenpay Global, declared that through Weixin Pay, a payment function of social platforms Tencent, payments can be made by scanning QR codes, further expanding the access of global digital wallet to transaction with China.
“In addition to payments, Tenpay Global will deepen your collaboration with PayPal World in remittances,” said Wenhui Yang.
When will it be available?
According to the company, Paypal World is expected to be available at the beginning of autumn this year in all interoperable wallets with Paypal and Venmo.
Interoperability refers to the capacity of applications and systems to exchange data safely and automatically, regardless of geographical, political or organizational limits. This function is vital to improve the end user experience. Platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) use it for your electronic commerce system.
The PayPal platform will be designed to allow greater interoperability, if the associated wallets decide to do it, to expand more the scope and transfer the borders safely.

The platform will be compatible with recent technologies and commerce experiences, such as dynamic payment buttons and digital assets such as Stablecoins.
Some of the use situations for Paypal World will be:
1. Buy and pay for trips to other countries, using your local digital wallet. For example, a PayPal user will be able to pay in China in a place that accepts Weixin Pay, or a UPI user in India, who wants to buy a product in a digital store that PayPal accepts.
