The Antonio Guiteras Thermoelectric Centralthe largest unit block in Cuba, must be reincorporated on Thursday to the National Electrical System (SEN), after several days out for a breakdown.
This was announced by the Electric Union (UNE) in its Daily partin which he promised that the Guiteras must be contributing about 150 MW in the night peak, at which time it would be in the process of completing the load and in which, however, the deficit will remain high.
The Matancera plant was found last weekend, just one day after having synchronized after a maintenance of about four days. Since then it has been stopped by repairs, mainly in the boiler.
This Wednesday, the journalist José Miguel Solís, from statements by managers and specialists, had said in his networks that only the possibility of synchronizing when the thermoelectric plant to “work parameters that also include the stable filming of the turbine at 3600 revolutions per minute” would be confirmed.
Judging by the announcement of the UNE, this would already be possible this Thursday.
At the moment, at 7:00 today the affectation amounted to 1384 MW and by noon, even with the contribution of the new photovoltaic solar parks, the forecast is located at 1300 MW.
For the night, despite the announced synchronization of the Guiteras, the availability will continue below 2000 MW and the affectation must reach 1750 MW, a figure similar to yesterday’s, as reported by the UNE.
For that time, the only planned incorporation is that of the matancer block. The rest of the six thermal units will remain out of service, as well as unit 4 of the Varadero Energy Plant.
Nor will they produce distributed generation centrals and five engines of the Turkish rule, standing due to lack of fuel. In total, for that reason 826 MW and 270 MW will be generated will be out for thermal limitations, in another long day of blackout.
