With flag raised they pay tribute to the father of the country

With the traditional raised of the national flag and a floral offering, authorities of the high government commemorated the 242 years of the birth of El Libertador Simón Bolívar and the day of the Bolivarian National Navy.

The commemorative acts were carried out in the National Pantheon, in Caracas, where the remains of the Father of the Fatherland rest.

The ceremony of the cadets of the Bolivarian Military University of Venezuela were present at the ceremony. In addition, the present authorities signed the ceremonial act.

The general commander of the Bolivarian Navy, Admiral Ashraf Suleimán Gutiérrez, said that this tribute with the national flag against the remains of El Libertador, is to honor who was fixed the goal of liberating his homeland and breaking the chains that Spanish dominance maintained over the Venezuelan territory.

He commented that “the Liberator Simón Bolívar commanded an army that granted sovereignty and freedom to the Venezuelan territory,” in addition to five other countries.

“Here is an Navy committed to the history of Venezuela and to legal rights and dresses up to commemorate its 202 anniversary remembering the historical feat of the battle of Lake Maracaibo. Let’s move on and aware that our country is firm marching in the framework of the seven transformations (7t) made by President Nicolás Maduro,” he said.

He added that the Naval Battle of Lake Maracaibo, which is celebrated today on Navy Day, was one of Latin America’s largest fighting.

Defense of historical rights

Gutiérrez said that the Ayacucho Plan will consolidate the six strategic lines marked by the Head of State, which will be framed in each of the activities for the firm development of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), “which will guarantee the peace and happiness of the Venezuelan people”.

Finally, he emphasized that this institution preserves and is committed to protecting the legal and historical rights of Venezuela.
