This Wednesday, July 10, the Bicentennial Stadium of La Florida, in Santiago, will be the scene of a special celebration: 5,000 soupipillas will be distributed for free within the framework of the National Day of the National Day of the Sopaipilla. The day will begin at 12:30 pm and will be open to all the audience that wants to enjoy this classic of Chilean cuisine.
The initiative is organized by the Municipality of Florida de Chili Together with the “delicious” chancaca brand and the traditional “where Yoyos” restaurant, in an effort to revalue the typical gastronomy of the country and promote the consumption of local products.
A recipe with history and community
The Sopaipillas They will be offered will have a special presentation: they will be served in gourmet format and passed in Chancaca, respecting one of the most beloved recipes by Chileans during the cold months. The event not only seeks to fill the stomach, but also reinforce the cultural bond between neighbors.
“The objective is to rescue a tradition, give visibility to local enterprises and strengthen the social fabric of the commune,” said Mayor Daniel Reyes. The activity is part of a calendar of events that seeks to value the intangible heritage of Chili.
In addition to the tasting, stands of gastronomic entrepreneurs and local producers will be installed, who will have the opportunity to show their products and add new customers. Participation in the activity is completely free and a high call is expected.
With this action, Florida is positioned as an active commune in the defense of Chilean culinary traditions. An ideal opportunity to enjoy as a family and celebrate winter with one of its most representative flavors.
