During an act of campaign closure in the Aragua state, head of the Unified Command of the Bolivarian Revolution, Jorge Rodríguez, highlighted the beginning of a stage that, according to his words, represents “a different way of assuming the efforts.”
In the context of the first 2025 youth popular consultation, it was announced that, for the first time in Venezuela, youth may decide directly, through the secret vote, the projects to be executed in the 15,000 centers distributed throughout the country.
Rodríguez said that it will be the citizens who choose the works in the 191 communal circuits of the Aragua State, without mediation of private companies or external officials. The vote is promoted as a tool for popular transformation.
Historical memory, local changes and community leadership
During his speech, Rodríguez also recalled the symbolic importance of the city of Maracay. He evoked moments shared with Commander Chávez, especially the June 2012 electoral campaign, considered a historical day.
He highlighted the need to renew efforts with territorial leadership. In his words, it is proposed to replace the traditional bureaucracy with officials committed to communities, such as the candidate Rafael Morales, who has training in public health and community career.
Rodríguez indicated that the electoral process of July 27 will be decisive to consolidate a new form of government, closer to local needs and oriented to participatory planning.
Courage of Venezuelan migrants
Jorge Rodríguez stressed the courage of the Venezuelan migrants that were tortured and mistreated during their kidnapping in El Salvador. “For something they are Venezuelans, for something in their veins the blood of the Liberators of America flows. They failed to bend or kneel them and kept their loyalty and will intact because they are Venezuelans,” he said.
Rodríguez thanked the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, for his decision to fight for migrants, when he was reported on that March 15, 2025 of the kidnapping of young people to transfer them illegally to the Nazist prison in El Salvador.
“When they were taken to a concentration camp that Bukele’s rat had established there for death, for destruction, for the torture of our young Venezuelans. And that night, Maduro told us: ‘We are not going to rest until we recover them all, we go to the fight with the people until we recover them.
The deputy of the Republic and president of the National Assembly (AN) confirmed that now the testimonies of these migrants rescued from the abuses, torture and abuse of their human rights by the authorities of El Salvador, who have violated all international law in this unfortunate case.
Rodríguez recalled that the rescue of 29 children living a legal “limbo” in US territory is also pending, where these authorities illegally snatched them from their fathers and mothers to retain them criminally.
“They are children who have to be with their mother and their father,” said the parliamentarian, informing that in Maracay there are several cases of these children who must return home.
“They have returned to seven, but there are 29; they have to return them to all, because they are Venezuelans, because they are from this land, because they deserve to be in their mother’s arms, their grandmother, their father, their uncles,” he said convinced and forceful.
“And we swore it for this life, we swore for the struggles of this town, which together with President Maduro we will never rest until they all return their family, all in Venezuela, to this homeland and beautiful land!”
Revolution in Maracay
The governor, Joana Sánchez, said that in Maracay she feels “the positive energy of a plan in conjunction with all the mayors and the regional government that will be built from next Sunday, July 27.”
In that sense, he indicated that “in Aragua we are going to get up with a plan with the 18 mayors and closing the virtuous circle. Today we deeply appreciate the effort made from the bases and ask them to refine with the militancy 5 × 5 and we are going to talk to the people and continue touching the hearts. Let’s be noble, respectful and that this July 27, keep reigning peace,” of mayors and mayors, as well as the youth projects.
Sanchez said that “we see you on 27 to celebrate that the 18 mayors will be in the hands of popular power.
He clarified remembering that Maracay’s participation in the revolutionary process has been decisive since the arrival of Commander Chávez to power and his ascent as the great leader of the Revolution at the Latin American level.
