This Tuesday, July 22, the National Government issued the new calculation of the cost of cost of living for public servants who work abroad in diplomatic and consular missionsthrough the Ministries of Finance and Public Credit; and that of Foreign Relations, together with the Administrative Department of the Public Service.
The new calculation of the cost of living rests in Decree 0819 of 2025and its objective is to level the real income of public servants abroad, taking into account the economic conditions of the countries in which they provide their services.

According to the Department of Public Function, The readjust and the higher categories, review that included a 9.5% increase in the net base salary of the international officials of said organization.

In the same way, consequently, said adjustment included an equivalent reduction in the indexes and multipliers of the Adjustment by place of destination in all destinations where public servants work.

Likewise, in the decree it is reiterated that the only competent body to conceptualize in salary and provisional Public Function and that no other body may arrive that competence as well as that no other authority may establish or modify the salary or provision regime determined by the current regulations.
